US Vice President JD Vance on Saturday dialled Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and both leaders discussed ways to deepen India-US strategic ties.
Vance’s call with the prime minister came just days after Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a mutual defence pact, widely viewed as a sign of a shifting regional alliance amid the West Asia conflict.

Warmly congratulated him and the Second Lady on the birth of their son and conveyed best wishes to the entire family,” PM Modi wrote on X.
As per a press release by PIB Delhi, Prime Minister Modi received the telephone call from Vice President Vance on August 8. During the call, the two leaders reviewed progress in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. They noted the sustained momentum in high-level engagements and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in trade, defence, critical and emerging technologies, energy security, and critical minerals.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, according to the press release.
