Google hosted its annual Made by Google event last night wherein it launched the Pixel 11 series smartphones alongside its newest smartwatch, that is, the Pixel Watch 5 and earbuds, that is, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and the Pixel Buds 2a. While newest Pixel devices arrived amid all the fanfare, one device got a little less attention than the others: the Pixel Tag.

At its event, Google also introduced its very first tracking device, dubbed as the Pixel Tag, marking its foray in a new product category. This tracker, just like Apple's AirTag, can be used for keeping a track of and locating lost items such as keys, wallets and even luggage.
Google Pixel Tag features and specifications
Pixel Tag, as mentioned before, is a thin and lightweight tracking device that can be placed inside a wallet or a bag or attached to car keys or a purse to find these items in case they are misplaced or lost. It comes with a polycarbonate and metal body that weighs just 11.8g and IP67 rating, which makes it immune to dust and water up to a depth of 1 metre for a maximum time of up to 30 minutes. In terms of the battery, this location tracker comes with a coin-cell battery that lasts for a year and can be replaced by users at their homes.
Talking about features, the Pixel Tag is compatible with devices running Android 9 or newer with Bluetooth 6.0 or higher. It uses Ultra-Wideband with Bluetooth Channel Sounding to enable the company's precision finding technology. Users can use the Find Hub app to see and lost item with visual distance and directional cues for guidance to find it.
Google says that a if Pixel Tag is out of range, Find Hub taps into the company's massive network of over one billion Android devices to help the user securely locate their missing belongings. This crowdsourced network uses safety features like end-to-end encrypted location information to protect user data while helping them find their lost items quickly. In addition to showing the lost item in the Find Hub app, users can also locate the lost item by ringing the Tag from the app, a web browser and even the Pixel Watch, to find it. Google says that users can even use their Pixel Buds to ask Gemini to ring the tag for them. Apart from this, users can also share Pixel Tag with up to 10 people to easily find shared items together.
As far as the Find Hub app is concerned, in addition to helping users find their lost items, this app can also be used for naming specific tags based on the items attached to them for easier understanding.
Lastly, lets talk about security. Google says that a user's phone will automatically alert them when it detects an unknown tag is traveling with them. It will also tell them how to ring the tag to help them find it and tips for what to do next. This safety feature works in a way that is similar to Apple's AirTag.
Pixel Tag India price and availability
A single unit of Pixel Tag costs ₹3,799, while a pack of four units costs ₹12,900. This tracking device will be available for purchase in India in November 2026.
