In view of the rising incidence of crimes in the society, State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy highlighted the need to provide specialised training to the police to curb it. As chief guest, he attended the Dikshant Parade (passing-out parade) at District Police Training Centre (DPTC) in Chemudugunta of Venkatachalam mandal in SPSR Nellore district on Saturday.
Addressing 176 Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables (SCTPCs), who completed their training here, he said, “While constable positions were previously held mainly by those with Class X qualification, individuals with degrees and higher education are now joining the police force. Police duties are not limited to security alone as they also play a crucial role in serving the public.”
The Minister commended the initiative to provide training in various areas, such as physical fitness, technical knowledge, legal awareness, and the control of cybercrimes. He advised that the fitness achieved during training should be maintained even after more than 30 years of service.
Meanwhile, State Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar participated as chief guest at the passing-out parade held at the DPTC in Ongole. He urged the passed-out trainees to not stop training, but to evolve and enhance their understanding of modern investigative techniques.
The new constables were urged to perform their duties with integrity, discipline, and public service. They were advised to maintain good health and to focus on detecting crimes.
Of the 190 trainees in the batch, 16 were post-graduates, 34 were B.Tech graduates, 121 were degree holders, and 19 were Intermediate-qualified. Commending the entry of highly qualified youth into the police force, the Minister expressed hope that they would perform their duties efficiently while striving to reach greater heights in their careers.
