Jun 19, 2026 11:45 AM IST Man hacked to death in UP’s Sant Kabir Nagar A man was allegedly hacked to death at a market in Uttar Pradesh's Sant Kabir Nagar district.

Sant Kabir Nagar Superintendent of Police Sandeep Meena informed that the victim, Anand, and the accused, Nasir, were friends and lived in the Bakhira police station area.

Reportedly, an argument broke out between the two friends during a wedding ceremony.

Police said Nasir later slit Anand's throat and killed him under the Bakhira police station limits.

As Anand belonged to the Scheduled Caste community, a case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and police said the accused will be arrested and dealt with strictly under the law.
